The Silicon Vapor Shield paper fully regulates the flow of moisture from the sub flooring to the hard wood floor, and in doing so meets the requirements of the 'National Hardwood Flooring Association.' This is confirmed by our Laboratory Tests results. This underlayment will protect the hardwood flooring from the sub-floor moisture. Planks slide effortlessly across the Silicone surface. The Underlayment doesn't leave a black residue which keeps the install and their work area clean. The Silicone Vapor Shield enables you to make a clear visible chalk line. Our Silicone Vapor Shield is a GREEN product that does not have toxic components; therefore it will not release any poisonous fumes/ gases. It serves as a membrane or covering with a vapor permeance (perm rating). As part of the application the paper is to be used under, nailed down or clicked on tongue and groove, or flat pieces of hard wood flooring, including above radiant heat. The Silicone Vapor Shield paper could also serve as a backing sheet for insulation within vertical wall cavities.
