Regulating the practice of chiropractic in the public interest and to govern the members in accordance with the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 and the Chiropractic Act, 1991; (2)Developing, establishing and maintaining standards of qualification for persons to be issued certificates of registration to practise chiropractic in Ontario; (3)Developing, establishing and maintaining standards of practice to assure the quality of the practice of chiropractic; (4)Developing, establishing and maintaining standards of knowledge, skill and ethics and quality assurance programs to promote continuing evaluation, competence and improvement among members of the College; (5)Developing, establishing and maintaining programs to assist individuals to exercise their rights under the Regulated Health Profession Act, 1991 and the Chiropractic Act, 1991; (6)Administering laws regulating chiropractors as they relate to the profession of chiropractic; (7) Protecting the public from chiropractors who commit acts of professional misconduct or who are incompetent or incapacitated through the College's inquiries, complaints and reports and discipline processes; (8)Developing, in collaboration and consultation with other health profession colleges, standards of knowledge, skill and judgment relating to the performance of controlled acts common among health professions enhance inter-professional collaboration, while respecting the unique character of individual health professions and their members; (9)Promoting inter-professional collaboration between health profession colleges; (10)Maintaining a public register that contains information available to the public in accordance with the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 and the College By-law; (11) Promoting and enhancing communications and relations between the College and its members, other health profession colleges, key stakeholders, and the public; (12) Developing, establishing and maintaining standards and programs to promote the ability of chiropractors to respond to changes in practice environments, advances in technology and other emerging issues; and (13) Any other objects relating to human health care that the Council of the College considers desirable and that is consistent with the public interest regulatory mandate of the College such as educating the public about the role and activities of the College and such as advising government and government agencies about regulatory initiatives.
