The Uppy Downy Company Ltd. was created in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, during the World Pandemic of 2020, by Ruth McEwan. Ruth's oldest granddaughter, Charlotte, used to outstretch her arms and ask Nana to "uppy downy" her (pick her up); hence, the name.
