Promote and advocate participation and involvement in sport and recreation tournaments and events among or involving British Columbians by developing school-based models and programs that integrate physical activity, healthy eating and healthy school environments into school health policies and the social fabric of schools, providing online educational programs and models through use of multimedia tools, streaming videos and challenge tests and sessions for the purposes of inspiring students to identify, discover and understand the sports that match the students' personal preferences and physical attributes, providing support and work in partnership with schools and communities to assist schools in creating individualized action plans to promote health living of students, providing funding to assist students to develop and master sport skills, developing multimedia and software tools for use by sport organizations, athletes, coaches, parents, teachers and British Columbians generally to collaborate online in creating, deploying and accessing sport-related learning resources and lessons, assist local communities to design, develop and implement action plans and profiles, establishing and partnering with sport organizations and strategic alliances to build a pathway of increased opportunities in sport and physical activities, implementing coaching development, education, training, leadership, qualification and certification models, creating a coaching institute, developing sport standards programs, council models and provincial sport policy for implementation of strategies, providing funding to increase recruitment and development of disabled athletes, advancing comprehensive health models, designing, executing and establishing community workshops and frameworks, strengthening partnership and increasing involvement among sport and recreation organizations/sectors, the corporate sectors and all levels of governments, developing a leadership council to implement strategies to increase social and community support, implementing a sustainable plan for sport delivery, building and maintaining a provincial sport hall of fame and museum, increasing support to the athlete assistance funding program, establishing tests and measuring physical parameters to achieve sport excellence, creating a sport science/sport medicine support model, building long term partnership with sport organizations to maximize the development of sustainable sport and recreation legacies, promoting sport and recreation on municipal, provincial and national levels, all for the purposes of promoting the benefits and enjoyment of lifelong physical activities, building a strong and lasting sport system, increasing the overall participation rate of British Columbians in sport and recreation, and providing training and support for athletes and coaches to participate, compete and achieve their potentials in national and international sporting events.
