(1) The Transplant Ambassador Program (TAP) is a large group of Ambassadors with lived experience who provide peer support for kidney patients and living kidney donors by having Transplant Ambassadors take shifts in hospital clinics, coffee stops, as well as by phone and conference call, to connect with patients at all stages of kidney journey-from early onset of kidney disease and kidney failure, to dialysis and transplant and beyond the earlier the better. TAP also provides education webinars, workshops and in-person training, and an interactive, resource-rich website (www.transplantambassadors.ca) for the purposes of supporting kidney patients and potential donors and increasing kidney transplant rates across Ontario and Canada.
