Retail sale of electricity to residential and commercial consumers; the operation of a service whereby residential and commercial customers who generate some of the electricity they consume through micro-generation have the right (contractually) to elect a higher electricity rate for the electricity they sell to the electrical grid and/or purchase from the electrical grid, as applicable, during the months of the year when they are generating an excess of the electricity through micro-generation compared to what they consume and switch to a lower electricity rate during the months of the year when they are not producing as much of their own electricity or any electricity.
